Being a christian is who I am, but it does not exclude me from working with anyone, regardless of their faith, or those who do not have one. I treat everyone with respect and dignity, focussing on their issues, not my ideals.
My passion is to help people move from where they are today to where they would love to be. If you are a senior executive or a business owner, this has the added benefit of impacting more than just you. I love to see those ripples move through your organisation, as a result of the lightbulb moments you have on your coaching journey.
See below for some of the examples of people that I work with.
John is the Technical Director of a software company. He finds dealing with people difficult at times.
They don't really get him and inadvertently ,he upsets people. That is not his intention, it just seems to happen more often than he would like. When it does happen though, it seems to slow everything down. Work does not progress and there are a lot of conversations that need to take place to unravel what has happened.
I coached John over a period of 6 months and in that time we explored how he communicates with people he works with. There were a few things that John recognised as unhelpful, on his part. There were a few things that we 'rehearsed' to avoid those same sticky situations in the future.
Feedback from the people he works with: "Keep doing what you are doing Krys, something is really working! We have seen a real difference in John".
Michelle runs her own business and it is doing well, but she would like to be able to act ethically in some tricky situations.
Take for example the clients she has; they often ask her to go on an approved suppliers list. The process is lengthy and sometimes the procurement process makes her feel uncomfortable. She knows at times that they have stretched the truth, and it is a dilemma, for her, as to whether she should carry on or leave the process.
During one of our sessions we looked at ideal outcomes for Michelle and her business. We also explored her values and their importance to her life, both personally and professionally.
She highlighted some things, which in her eyes were 'non-negotiable' and others that were less important. Having clarity on these allowed Michelle to make some decisions about which clients she was happy to work with and to identify a couple that she knew long-term, she needed to break loose from.
Ajay loves the freedom that he has with his current senior position in a global IT company. He has been with them for over 17 years and is well respected. Just recently he has shared more about his christian faith to his colleagues and his team. Whereas most have received this very positively, there are some people who see this 'new information' as a barrier to their relationship. Most of these barriers come from the preconceptions about what being a christian is really about.
Ajay admitted it angered him that he was being subjected to some of the prejudices, that he himself was being accused of. Putting aside his anger, he explored in our coaching sessions, his colleagues viewpoint and the experiences that had shaped this.
Coming from a place of empathy, allowed him to tackle this issue in a sensitive and productive way. His actions helped improve his relationship with his colleague and at the same time dispel some of the myths surrounding his christian beliefs.
See how you might start to unpick how you might tackle some of these thorny issues?
Would you like to explore how Krys might be able to help you? No fee or obligation?
